QLogic HBAs/Switches Certified with LSI Logic 2Gb storage system

Nov 6, 2001

QLogic Corp. today announced its two gigabit (2Gb) SANblade(R) host bus adapters (HBAs) and SANbox(TM) switches are certified with LSI Logic Storage Systems’ new MetaStor(R) E4600 2Gb storage system.

“LSI Logic Storage Systems and QLogic are taking the lead in deploying full 2Gb storage networking solutions,” said Flavio Santoni, vice president of sales and marketing for LSI Storage Systems, Inc. “In combination with QLogic’s end-to-end 2Gb infrastructure, the MetaStor E4600 increases the performance of existing SANs and establishes a scalable foundation so that customers can add more 2Gb systems to the network.”

“With the ability to integrate easily into any storage networking configuration and operating system, the E4600 delivers 2Gb performance into the enterprise at midrange prices,” said Frank Berry, vice president of corporate marketing, QLogic Corp. “LSI Logic Storage Systems changes the rules of price-performance, with their complementary SANtricity(TM) software for centralized administration, replication, and scalability control.”

LSI Logic’s MetaStor(R) E4600 supports up to four concurrent 2Gb Fibre Channel host connections. QLogic said this allows its HBAs and switches to connect multiple-vendor, high-performance servers at accelerated transfer rates to the E4600, which scales from 36GB to 39TB of capacity.
