RELERA Debuts Internet Data Center in Raleigh, N.C.

May 1, 2001

RELERA Inc. this week announced the opening of an Internet Data Center (IDC) in Raleigh, N.C. In addition, RELERA has signed the new IDC’s first customer, BioSignia, a Chapel Hill-based company that develops evidence-based disease risk profiling. Raleigh, together with Durham and Chapel Hill, is the home to the Research Triangle Park (RTP), and is one of many business communities that RELERA hopes will benefit from its new IDC.

“RTP is an excellent example of a business community that can benefit from the type of managed hosting solutions that RELERA offers,” said Jeff King, director of RELERA’s Raleigh IDC. “RELERA can handle all of a company’s IT needs so that company can focus on its core business, whether it be biotech, financial, manufacturing or technology.”

According to RELERA, its Raleigh IDC includes fully redundant power, cooling, physical security and on-site service to companies in technologically underserved cities across the United States. Furthermore, RELERA says it is partnering with some of the industry’s most prominent technology companies to offer customers a comprehensive solution for outsourcing their Internet infrastructure.

This year, RELERA has opened IDCs in Richmond, Va.; Memphis, Tenn.; San Antonio, Charlotte, N.C.; Sacramento, Calif.; and Las Vegas. The company plans to have a total of 11 IDCs open and operating by mid-year.
