On the heels of announcing a top of the line Cheetah hard disk drive, the Cheetah X15-36LP, Seagate today announced an entry level Cheetah drive, the Cheetah 36ES.Seagate Announces Entry Level Cheetah Hard Disk Drive

According to Seagate, the Ultra320 SCSI Cheetah 36ES comes in 18.4 and 36.7gigabyte configurations, features a 10K-rpm spindle speed, has a seek time of 5.2 msec and internal data rates up to 682 Mbits/sec.Seagate Announces Entry Level Cheetah Hard Disk Drive

Single evaluation-unit prices of the various Cheetah 36ES models cost $335 for the 18GB edition and $550 for the 36GB version.
