Quantum subsidiary and Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions vendor Snap Appliances, Inc. recently announced it is shipping its Snap Server(R) 4100 rack-mountable appliances in Japan.

According to the company, with capacity points of 160 GB and 300 GB in a 1U rack-mountable form factor, the Snap Server 4100 supports corporate workgroups of 150 or more users and offers excellent data protection or enhanced performance with support for RAID levels 5, 1 and 0.

“We are extremely pleased to provide Snap Server products in Japan,” said Jim Schraith, chairman and CEO of Snap Appliances. “Customers in Japan can now take advantage of the reliability and available capacity of the Snap Server 4100, that, along with the enhanced feature-set of the Snap Operating System, provides an extremely high return on investment versus NT-class server options.”

The Snap Server 4100 is currently available to end-users and VARs in Japan through Softbank Commerce Corp., Technography Inc., Nissho Electronics Corp., and NetWorld, Inc.
