“Easing Backup Pain: A Backup & Restore Workshop,” an event being hosted by the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), is being held today and tomorrow at the SNIA Technology Center in Colorado Springs.
SNIA said the “Easing Backup Pain” workshop will deliver an extensive series of tutorials focused on the business and technical aspects of backup and recovery solutions. Three tutorial tracks will be offered: a business track that will teach participants how to plan, design, implement and manage large-scale backup and restore solutions; a technical track for hands-on implementers of storage networks; and a cross-functional track that combines tutorials from the business and technical tracks.
Attendees can also sign up for hour-long consulting sessions with storage professional services consultants. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the SNIA Technology Center’s labs and view multiple demonstrations of backup and restore solutions with a minimum data backup rate of 1 terabyte per hour.
“As an active member of the Storage Networking Industry Association, Vixel will be supporting this event and will be working in conjunction with its EZ-SAN partners to offer backup tutorials and demonstrations to the attendees,” said Tom Hammond-Doel, director of technical marketing at Vixel Corporation. “We continue to support the SNIA in its efforts at making sure that, cost-effective, open and simple storage networks are available for the end user community.”
According to SNIA, more than 30 member companies of the association organized the event. The event is targeted at storage end users and other IT professionals who want to learn how storage networking solutions can be used to backup and recover data in an enterprise environment.
