Sony Expands Data Storage Media Offerings with LTO Tape

Sony Electronics today announced the addition of the LTO (Linear Tape Open) Ultrium1 cartridge to its branded portfolio of data media products.

LTX100G tape provides 100GB native of capacity and 200GB compressed data capacity. This new Sony data media has been qualified by LTO technology provider companies for use in all LTO Ultrium drives, so Sony-branded LTO tape can be utilized in other manufacturers’ LTO drives.

Sony’s LTX100G tape media is currently available at a suggested retail price of $199.
