SteelEye Delivers Disaster Recovery for Windows


SteelEye(TM) Technology Inc., a provider of clustering software for Windows, Linux, and Solaris environments, today announced the immediate availability of its new SteelEye Disaster Recovery Solution(TM) with packaged support for SAP R/3, Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft IIS, Netscape and other environments.


SteelEye said its new Disaster Recovery Solution provides WAN-optimized data mirroring and geographic application failover that integrate with existing system installations. It stated that the solution can be implemented independently or as an extension to Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) or EMC Symmetrix Remote Data Facility (SRDF), providing the most versatile disaster recovery protection in the industry.


“Our comprehensive SteelEye Disaster Recovery Solution combined with either Microsoft Cluster Server or EMC SRDF options offer customers extensive configuration flexibility,” said Boris Geller, Vice President of Marketing at SteelEye. “The extreme flexibility of this solution offers our customers the choice of deploying the best solutions that meet their business needs and preserve their investments in reliability infrastructure and business-critical technologies.”


SteelEye said suggested retail pricing in the U.S. starts at $9,500 per site (or $4,500 per site for MSCS extension) and varies based on configurations and options selected. The SteelEye Disaster Recovery Solution is currently available for Windows 2000 and Windows NT systems. General availability on Linux platforms is scheduled for early 2002.
