Storability Introduces Storage Services Delivery Platform

Sep 25, 2001

Storability, Inc. today announced the release of the AssuredStorage(SM) Management System (ASMS), which it says is the first commercially available storage services delivery platform.

According to Storability, ASMS is specifically designed for service providers who want to add storage services to their portfolio of other service offerings, and for enterprise IT organizations making the move to an internal service provider model. ASMS can be deployed within the enterprise firewall, and operated by the customer’s own IT staff. As an option, customers can also choose to have Storability’s operation experts manage the infrastructure remotely on a short or long-term basis.

The company said ASMS gives customers a single, centralized view of the entire heterogeneous storage infrastructure, across multiple platforms and locations, via Storability’s secure AssuredStorage(SM) Navigator web-based portal. The AssuredStorage Navigator provides up-to-the-minute and retrospective reporting for operational status, performance monitoring and trending, capacity planning, and storage utilization for departmental chargebacks. Navigator provides both dashboard and drill-down views, regardless of the underlying hardware environment.
