StorageTek and Gresham Unveil High-Performance Tape Drives

Apr 26, 2001

StorageTek(R) and Gresham Enterprise Storage reported a licensing agreement they said will allow users of StorageTek’s high-performance tape technology to benefit from the full performance potential on the AIX operating system.

According to the companies, Gresham developed AdvanTAPE for AIX for StorageTek to optimize device performance and take advantage of the advanced functionality of StorageTek’s 9840 and T9940 tape drives.

“High-performance drives require equally high performing drivers, and many of our users have reported improved experiences from employing Gresham’s products,” said Richard Mizrahi, StorageTek product marketing manager for Automated Tape Solutions. “Because we offer this tightly integrated solution, our customers can get the most from their tape technology investment, which is a top priority for us.”

“We have been working closely with StorageTek on device drivers and other products for a number of years, and together we make a powerful team,” said Tom Wright, general manager of Gresham Products Business Unit. “We are very pleased that StorageTek, recognized for technology advances, and Gresham, complement each other and can provide advanced solutions to customers.”
