StorageTek this week announced its 9176 Disk Subsystem has earned Microsoft certification with the Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Windows NT and Windows 98 technology.

“StorageTek has been committed to ensuring its products are interoperable with Microsoft technology and its network protocols,” said Michael McLay, StorageTek vice president U.S./Canada Sales and Service. “We value our relationship with Microsoft because it shows that StorageTek is dedicated to meeting the needs of our customers who are faced with multiple challenges in their IT environments.”

According to StorageTek, the 9176 Disk Subsystem is a full-Fibre RAID disk subsystem supporting NT, Windows 2000 and multiple operating systems. They say it is a high-performance subsystem (up to 60,000 I/Os and 400 MB/sec) that carries redundant components to eliminate single points of failure, and that controller-based LUN masking, centralized management and fabric login support make the 9176 Disk Subsystem ideal for storage area networks.
