Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise to Integrate Veritas Software

Aug 13, 2001

Sybase, Inc. today announced that its flagship product — Sybase(R) Adaptive Server(R) Enterprise (ASE) 12.5 — will integrate with and fully support VERITAS Cluster Server(TM).

This development is the latest in a series of VERITAS solutions for the Sybase database environment that the companies say can increase the performance and stability of data storage systems. According to the companies, VERITAS Database Edition(TM)/HA for Sybase optimizes core VERITAS volume management and file system technology to enhance the performance of Sybase relational database environments. VERITAS Database Edition/HA for Sybase includes the VERITAS Cluster Server technology, which integrates the automatic failover features built into VERITAS Cluster Server.

“This integration was requested by our customers, who continually seek more flexibility in their mission-critical systems,” said Raj Nathan, senior vice president and general manager, Sybase Enterprise Solutions Division. “This is yet another step in our continuing commitment to develop strategic partnerships that provide our customers with meaningful products that can give them a true competitive advantage in the marketplace.”
