Tivoli(R) Systems Inc., an IBM(R) company, announced what they claim to be the industry’s first access management software that can integrate security policy across IBM e-business infrastructure software, specifically IBM MQSeries and IBM WebSphere(R), without requiring a security infrastructure.

The company claims that by using the new support in Tivoli SecureWay Policy Director, IBM WebSphere and IBM MQSeries developers and customers can now build consistent security policy into their e-business infrastructures with open standards and tight product integration.

Tivoli SecureWay Policy Director version 3.7 integrates with IBM WebSphere Software, including IBM WebSphere Application Server, and IBM MQSeries by leveraging The Open Group’s authorization standard, called aznAPI, and the Java 2 security model, including Java Authentication and Authorization Services (JAAS). Support for these standards gives Java developers the power to make secure access management an integral component of their application infrastructure.

In addition, current development plans call for embedding Tivoli SecureWay Policy Director into new versions of IBM WebSphere Application Server.

Tivoli SecureWay Policy Director version 3.7, which includes IBM WebSphere integration, and Tivoli SecureWay Policy Director for MQSeries are currently available worldwide. Pricing for Tivoli SecureWay Policy Director is based on the number of users. Tivoli SecureWay Policy Director for MQSeries pricing is based on server configuration.
