According to Toshiba, the storage devices measure 54mm wide and 78.5mm deep, and weigh 51 and 62 grams respectively. Toshiba said the new 10GB (MK1003GAL) and 20GB (MK2003GAH) hard drives are smaller than a credit card and lighter than a traditional pager, offering data transfer rates of 100MB/sec.

Toshiba built the drives on its 2.5-inch HDD technology platform and sees them becoming integrated in a range of devices, including portable PCs, handheld mobile terminals, wearable computers, digital video cameras, car navigation systems and audio/video players.
