Toshiba’s Servers to Come With Retrospect Backup

Dantz Development Corporation today announced the next step in its alliance with Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Computer Systems Group (CSG), with the availability of Retrospect(R) Backup Software as an option with Toshiba’s Magnia(TM) servers.


According to the company, Retrospect provides automated backup and recovery services for Magnia Servers including emergency restore capabilities designed to restore a non-functioning system quickly and precisely.

Toshiba says its Magnia 510D, Magnia 3100, and Magnia 7100 servers may be
configured with optional 40 GB(a) DDS-4 or 100 GB(a) AIT-2 tape drives
that are available with two special Toshiba editions of Retrospect Backup
Software. Retrospect Workgroup Backup protects a single server and five
additional networked desktops and notebooks, and Retrospect Server Backup
protects the local server plus up to five more servers, desktops, and
notebooks. Both versions include Retrospect’s Disaster Recovery feature,
and additional Retrospect Clients are available in packs of 5, 10, 50, and
100.
