Tricord Systems, a developer of clustering software and network attached storage (NAS) appliances, has hired Ron Brown as vice president of business/corporate development and OEM sales. The company said Brown will lead Tricord’s efforts to establish business and OEM relationships with other storage, server appliance, and networking vendors.
“A key tenet in Tricord’s strategy is forming business alliances, and we’re very pleased to have added Ron to our team to manage these important functions,” said Keith Thorndyke, president and CEO of Tricord. “Tricord’s core technology, our Illumina distributed file system that clusters appliances, has potential application in many different aspects of the network and storage infrastructure. Ron will bring his 23 years of storage industry experience, contacts, and relationship acumen to bear on our partnering efforts.”
According to Tricord, Brown brings over 33 years of data storage, networking, and consumer electronics experience to Tricord, including background in product development, sales/marketing, business/corporate development, and general management. Brown served as the senior vice president of worldwide sales and service for Intelliguard, a storage management software company purchased by Legato Systems. He also headed up strategic initiatives, alliances, and OEM sales for SANavigator, a wholly owned subsidiary of Western Digital Corporation, through its sale to McDATA Corporation.
