VERITAS Software Corporation and Unisys Corporation today announced that Unisys will offer VERITAS Volume Manager(TM) for Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000 operating system with Unisys enterprise servers, including the 32-processor Unisys e-@ction Enterprise Server ES7000(TM).


“We’re working with VERITAS Software to continue our proven success of combining their leading data availability software solutions with our leading-edge hardware technologies to enable customers to manage and protect their business-critical data,” said Jeffrey Bell, vice president and general manager, Storage Program, Unisys Corporation. “Easy to use online storage-management tools are critical to our customers’ success in deploying storage area networks and VERITAS Volume Manager will help Unisys launch new storage area network (SAN) solutions for consolidating storage and assuring high availability of our customers’ data.”


According to the companies, the agreement builds on the an already existing technology and marketing partnership to provide best-of-breed software and hardware solutions to mutual customers. Unisys and VERITAS Software believe customers who demand enterprise-class technology for Windows 2000 environments will benefit from increased performance and enhanced management capabilities delivered by the combination of VERITAS Volume Manager and the Unisys ES7000.
