VERITAS Software Showcases New Interoperability Solutions

May 15, 2001

VERITAS Software Corporation today announced expanded support for the HP, Oracle and Sun platforms at its annual European user’s conference. The company is showcasing new platform solutions and demonstrating multivendor interoperability at the conference, addressing the needs of companies implementing computing and storage solutions across multiple hardware and software platforms. These companies can maximize the return on investment in their storage hardware and servers and optimize staffing resources by leveraging software management solutions that deliver improved interoperability.

“Justifying storage purchases based on dubious claims of improved productivity may work in a robust economy, but not when companies must scrutinize every purchase,” said Phil Goodwin, program director, META Group. “Instead, IT organizations must demonstrably deliver more — manage more storage this year than last year, manage more storage per employee, deliver more usable information with less downtime. The secret to improving storage return on investment is not limiting storage growth, but rather implementing the tools and infrastructure to manage more on a pound-for-pound basis.”

“In today’s rapidly changing business and technology environment, companies are looking to improve the return on their IT investments, while leveraging hardware from multiple vendors,” said Gary Bloom, president and chief executive officer, VERITAS Software. “Our Europe, Middle East and Africa conference brings customers, partners, and industry experts together, providing an excellent platform to showcase the built-in interoperability of VERITAS Software products. These products enable organizations to deploy multivendor solutions that protect, manage and ensure the continuous availability of their critical information.”

The VERITAS VISION 2001-EMEA user’s conference will showcase a complete range of VERITAS Software solutions running in a variety of server and operating system platforms from different vendors. The three-day conference will feature keynote addresses from VERITAS Software President and Chief Executive Officer Gary Bloom, other industry luminaries and Polish President Lech Walesa. The conference will also include an exhibition of major computer, software and storage vendors and presentations from major VERITAS Software customers, partners and employees.
