This week, ACCPAC International, Inc. revealed its ASP strategy in addition to launching Accpacc Online, its e-business resource center for SMEs.

Accpacc International, Inc., a division of Computer Associates’ interBiz group, speak will host the delivery of its accounting and e-business management solutions, becoming the first mid-market ERP vendor to establish itself as an ASP with the introduction of Accpacc Online.

Highlighting this announcement is the introduction of two new ASP channel programs designed to benefit and leverage the more than 4,000 existing Accpacc channel partners.

Accpacc Online provides hosting services for Accpacc accounting and e-business solutions. It also provides information and services designed specifically to help SMEs enter the world of e-business affordably and efficiently.

David Hood, president and chief executive officer, is not hesitant to proudly about Accpacc Online. “While others have been busy talking about their future e-business solutions, we’ve been building ours,” he said. “Today we’re delivering them. Accpacc Online puts e-business within the reach of every business.”

According to Hood, Accpacc Online is built on Computer Associates’ ASP and e-business infrastructure, including Unicenter TNG, providing members with world-class security and availability.

In related news, Accpacc Online will also allow Accpacc to host Microsoft Office as part of its ASP services. Microsoft Office 2000 will be offered in conjunction with Accpacc Corporate Series and Accpacc eAdvantage Suite.

Both Microsoft and Accpacc are pleased with this news.

“Offering Microsoft Office as a hosted application service adds tremendous value to an already valuable proposition,” Hood said.

Geoff Nyheim, general manager, global partners, Microsoft, agreed. “This solution will enable customers to realize .Net benefits quickly and with minimal risk. Accpacc has demonstrated the ability to successfully integrate Microsoft technology such as Excel, VBA, COM and SQL Server into its core product lines.”
