The ASP Industry Consortium has been elected to the 2001 Associations Advance America Honor Roll, a national awards competition sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) in Washington, D.C.
The ASP Industry Consortium received the award for its “ASPs – Changing the World of Computing” public education campaign. Since its inception, the Consortium has reached an estimated 1 billion viewers, readers and listeners around the world, helping to broaden understanding of the ASP computing model and the benefits it presents to organizations of all types and sizes.
Now in its eleventh year, the prestigious Associations Advance America Awards recognize associations that propel America forward through innovative projects in education, training, standards-setting, business and social innovation, knowledge creation, citizenship and community service. Of the 135,000 associations active in the U.S. today, 62 were singled out for recognition in the most recent additions to the Association Advance America Honor Roll.
“The ASP Industry Consortium’s program truly embodies the spirit of the Associations Advance America campaign,” noted Michel S. Olson, ASAE president. “It is an honor and an inspiration to showcase this activity as an example of the many contributions associations are making to advance American society.”
“Your program is a perfect example of how associations play a vital role in helping the nation adapt to complex and changing times,” he added in announcing the award.
“This honor belongs to all of the members of the ASP Industry Consortium who have donated their time and their talents to an educational campaign that we are very proud of,” commented ASPIC president Paula Hunter.
“Inclusion on the Associations Advance America Honor Roll validates their contributions as well as our position as the leading ASP industry body,” added Hunter, who is also the chief market strategist for Xevo Corp. of Marlboro, Mass.
Based in Wakefield, Mass., the ASP Industry Consortium is the global advocacy group formed to promote the application service provider industry. Since its founding in May 1999, more than 700 member companies have joined the ASP Industry Consortium from 30 countries around the world. The Consortium’s goals include educating the marketplace, promoting best practices, developing common definitions for the industry, as well as serving as a forum for discussion and sponsoring research.
