ATG Adds AltaVista Vet

Art Technology Group, a Cambridge, Mass., maker of customer relationship management
software, has appointed Ilene H. Lang, a founder of AltaVista, to its board of directors.

She replaces Robert Walters who resigned due to his increased responsibilities at John Hancock Financial Services.

“We welcome Ilene to the board and are confident that her extensive industry knowledge and experience will provide us with valuable new insight,” said Joseph
Chung, ATG’s Chairman and CTO.

Lang was the founding CEO of AltaVista., a subsidiary of Digital and the company that commercialized the highly popular AltaVista Internet search service. Prior to
AltaVista, Lang was a senior vice president at Lotus.

More recently, she served as president and CEO of Individual.com and as CEO of Essential.com. She currently serves as a partner at First Light Capital.

Lang earned a bachelor’s degree from Radcliffe College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She serves on the board of directors of Adaptec Corporation,
Fact City, and Zoots.
