Corio Is the People’s Choice for PeopleSoft

According to market research firm The Aberdeen Group, Corio is the leading ASP for PeopleSoft enterprise software.

In Corio: Experience and Expertise Alleviate Risk for PeopleSoft ASP Clients, which was released yesterday, The Aberdeen Group identifies Corio as the industry leader with 27 percent of the total ASP market share for PeopleSoft applications.

Following closely behind Corio, according to the Aberdeen report, is USinternetworking with 24 percent market share. The third largest PeopleSoft ASP is PeopleSoft itself with 23 percent. Surebridge (13 percent), Interpath (seven percent) and Transchannel (six percent) round out the PeopleSoft ASPs covered in The Aberdeen Group report.

According to the report, written by Katherine Jones, managing director of Collaborative Business Applications Research, Aberdeen looked at pure-play ASPs that had more than 10 customers of PeopleSoft applications. The report excludes business process outsourcers and systems integrators that, according to Aberdeen, often do not report data on their ASP environments.

Aberdeen said that Corio demonstrated clear market leadership through its experience with 300 PeopleSoft projects and more than 100 PeopleSoft applications managed for its customers, including human resources, payroll, financials, manufacturing and distribution systems. More than 50 percent of Corio’s customers have requested additional services.

The Aberdeen report also applauds Corio’s practice of setting up separate database instances for development, unit acceptance test (UAT), staging, disaster recovery and training to provide its customers with increased reliability.

The reports concludes: “Aberdeen research identifies Corio as today’s market leader in supporting PeopleSoft applications for its customers, not only in the number of customers served, but in the depth of experience and expertise the company brings to the PeopleSoft suite.”

Corio was founded in 1998 and is based in San Carlos, Calif. It deploys and manages enterprise applications from Oracle, SAP and Siebel Systems.
