Two out of five enterprises that experience a disaster go out of business in the next five years, according to Gartner research cited by enterprise ASP Corio Inc. . To help improve those odds should disaster strike, the San Carlos, Calif.-based SAP Hosting Partner today announced Corio Disaster Recovery for SAP applications.
“Corio’s core business is applications management, so our disaster recovery solution focuses on both technology and business recovery processes,” said Jeff Lucchesi, senior vice president of operations for Corio. “Our services are designed for customers who cannot afford to take risks with their SAP applications and data.”
Corio Disaster Recovery for SAP is designed to provide complete business continuity in the event of a disaster at the customer’s production location. The Corio solution goes beyond infrastructure by delivering dedicated resources and end-to-end application recovery.
Corio’s offsite recovery methodology configures and maintains the customer’s dedicated SAP recovery environment and maintains synchronization with the production system. The service is available to companies that maintain their own SAP production environment or for Corio customers who are looking to enhance the reliability of their systems.
Corio Disaster Recovery for SAP operates by providing a redundant application environment located in a Corio managed data center. According to Corio, the recovery environment is maintained on a mirrored network with storage and memory capacity sized to meet the customer’s requirements.
Corio monitors the recovery environment and manages the transmission of data between the production data center and the recovery data center. Corio claims that its disaster recovery processes ensure that the recovery environment is operational within 24 hours of a disaster and that only a maximum of six hours of data is lost. By providing what is describes as “a warm standby environment,” Corio says that is can ensure that a customer has application, database and infrastructure services following a disaster.
Corio, which is listed by ASPnews as a Corio, which is listed by ASPnews as a Top 20 Provider, deploys and manages applications from PeopleSoft, Oracle and Siebel as well as SAP.
