Cable & Wireless IDC, C&W’s Japanese subsidiary, has opened a 20,000 square foot hosting center in Osaka, Japan, bringing the hosting space in the country to 75,000 square feet in four hosting centers.
Cable & Wireless currently operates 22 data centers around the world to meet the growing demand for outsourced managed hosting services. In June 2001 C&W IDC plans open a new 265, 000 square foot Internet Solution Center facility in Tokyo.
The new Osaka facility is directly connected to C&W’s global IP network. The facility has been constructed to meet superior requirements in terms of fire and earthquake safety and meets the highest levels of environmental stability and security necessary for the maintenance of customers’ web systems.
In addition to those web hosting services presently provided by C&W IDC, the company will also be providing value added services such as web system management and failure recovery services in co-operation with alliance partners.
