Dirig Gets Utilitized

Dec 5, 2001

Dirig Software, a Nashua, N. H.-based developer of application and system management solutions, yesterday announced that Northeast Utilities , the Berlin, Conn.-based energy company serving almost two million customers in New England with electric power and natural gas, is using its RelyENT software for maintaining the availability and performance of its corporate server and application infrastructure.

“With over a million customers in three states, numerous subsidiary organizations and multiple energy services offered, access to several enterprise-level databases and Web servers is constantly in demand. We needed a solution to protect our applications from downtime and improve the overall productivity of our IT staff,” says Ed Peczynski, director of Information Technologies at Northeast Utilities.

“RelyENT’s proactive approach to maintaining application and system performance through its automated corrective actions capability, provides the assurance that our business applications are always available and empowers our IT staff with more control over our systems.”

Dirig explains its RelyENT solution for system and application management, integrates into many network performance monitoring and management products to provide a single interface for all network, system and application performance data.

“Enterprise organizations have continually viewed management technologies as a vital piece of their IT infrastructure and are meticulous when evaluating new solutions to invest in,” says Chris Lesar, vice president of operations, Dirig Software.

He argues: “Dirig continues to impact enterprise organizations with proactive management solutions that have a positive influence on their bottom line with increased productivity and improved system performance.”
