Dirig Ties Into GiantLoop

Oct 15, 2001

Dirig Software, a Nashua, N.H., developer of application and system management solutions, has landed GiantLoop Network, a Waltham, Mass., optical storage firm, as a customer.

GiantLoop will use RelyENT to monitor and maintain the critical applications and systems used internally that enable them to deliver managed optical network
solutions.

“Dirig’s RelyENT provides the extensibility to support our entire system and application infrastructure, combined with features that detect and fix any degradation in
application performance,” said Bob Catalano, GiantLoop vice president, technology and service management.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“GiantLoop has developed one of the most advanced managed network services bringing together optical networking technologies and leading management
solutions,” said Chris Lesar, vice president of operations at Dirig Software. “Our work with GiantLoop highlights our versatility to easily manage a complex
infrastructure, ensuring the availability of the critical applications important to GiantLoop and their customers.”

Founded in 1997, Dirig is privately held and recently moved into a new, larger corporate headquarters.
