EDS Builds On SeeBeyond Alliance

Dec 28, 2001

Expanding an existing alliance with SeeBeyond Technology Corp. , a provider of eBusiness Application Integration solutions and EDS the Plano, Texas-based provider of strategy, implementation and hosting services, yesterday announced that it will use the SeeBeyond eBusiness Integration Suite as its backbone for corporate business.

The unified SeeBeyond suite aims to reduce the time and expense of systems maintenance and provides application-to-application and B2B integration, as well as business process management capabilities.

SeeBeyond says the integration suite will serve as the foundation for EDS’ EEIB and will additionally enable more efficient integration of legacy systems and third-party systems.

SeeBeyond and EDS created a strategic alliance in February 2000 to deliver the next generation of eBusiness solutions and have since provided services to more than 50 organizations globally.

“With the priority our clients place on integration, it was natural for us to look internally to assess our own integration needs,” says Terry Milholland, EDS chief information and chief technology officer. “We needed a proven solution that provided the essential components for eBusiness integration and also can be recommended to clients as well,” he adds.

The EEIB is also providing a mechanism to abstract business information from application systems, a requirement that enables corporations to have a dynamic and fluid environment where legacy applications can retire, new applications can be added and legacy and new applications can co-exist.

“EDS’ decision further demonstrates its confidence in SeeBeyond as a key global alliance partner, an equity investor and now as a customer,” says Jim Demetriades, founder, president and CEO of SeeBeyond. “We look forward to continued success with this relationship both internally for EDS and externally in the delivery of eBusiness Integration solutions to our clients.”
