Excite@Home Wednesday inked a deal with electronics retailer Circuit City
to bring Excite@Home’s high-speed cable Internet service to consumers.

Circuit City will soon begin to sell the @Home Cable Internet
Pre-Installation Kit in an initial group of its retail stores, and will
bring the product to additional stores in the next year.

The retailer will also sell cable modems shortly.

“Broadband cable services are an extremely compelling technology for
consumers who are looking for high-speed, always-on Internet access,” said
John Froman, senior vice president at Circuit City. “The addition of the
Excite@Home product expands our offering of the latest technologies from
leading suppliers.”

Dean Gilbert, Excite@Home’s vice president and general manager, said that
he expects the relationship with Circuit City to provide customer service
and sales personnel which can support increased consumer purchases.
