Online movie ticketing site Fandango today announced that Loudcloud Inc. of Sunnyvale, California, will host its Internet site operations. According to the company, Loudcloud will design and manage Fandango’s infrastructure, including bandwidth, networking, storage, servers, and software using its proprietary Opsware automation technology.

Loudcloud was formed in September 1999 by Netscape cofounder Marc Andreessen, and former Netscape/America Online executives Ben Horowitz, Tim Howes, and In Sik Rhee.

“We are very happy to be working with Loudcloud,” said Art Levitt, president and CEO of Fandango. “Their knowledge of the technological aspects of Internet business will allow Fandango to focus on its core mission while providing its customers with a seamless and easy experience.”

Headquartered in Los Angeles, Fandango’s site provides movie show times, online film trailers, movie plotlines, cast lists, and film reviews. The company has partnerships with theater chains Carmike Cinemas, Century Theatres, Cinemark Theatres, Edwards Theatres, General Cinema Theatres, Loews Cineplex Entertainment, and Regal Cinemas.
