GTE Internetworking today
announced the launch of DiaLinx Dedicated, a wholesale managed remote access service designed for ISPs and Internet-centric companies.
GTE said the DiaLinx Dedicated service is designed to allow ISPs to “virtually” expand their remote access reach or capacity when deploying large, national IP networks.
The scalable, remote access service enables ISPs to expand to new regions or increase dial port capacity in current service areas. GTE said the service gives ISPs a fully-managed remote access solution without the expense associated with telecommunications infrastructure and network management.
GTE highlighted other DiaLinx Dedicated features including control over the user to modem ratio to fit the specific service level needs of ISPs; access to the entire DiaLinx network for global roaming access; and 24×7 real-time monitoring and support.
The company said one of the first ISPs to sign up for the new service is Mindspring, which plans to incorporate DiaLinx Dedicated into the expansion of its national modem network, scheduled for launch the fourth quarter of 1998.
