Midrange ERP vendor Lawson Software recently released an upgrade to ijob, itsWeb-based recruitment management service.
ijob 4.0 is offered through a hosted outsourcing model, offering customers an intelligent, self-evident solution that includes automatic release upgrades within 30 days of release delivery.
Lawson Software is an example of a software vendor choosing to become an ASP itself to offer new functionality that combines software with backoffice professional services. Could this be a model for the future?
“There is no question about that,” Larry Dunivan, ijob general manager, told ASP-News. “The fact that we only launched ijob as an ASP is proof.”
But Dunivan also pointed out that his statement could not be generalized across the board. “With recruiting, the ASP Model makes more sense than the more traditional approach,” he said.
Lawson has partnered with a variety of other ASPs for delivery of their other applications. According to Dunivan, USi is one partner. “Their do the hosting and outsourcing for any of our applications,” he explained.
According to Lawson Software, this latest version of ijob expands its candidate relationship management functionality, allowing customers to track and view all interactions with every candidate.
This release also advances the e-recruitment service’s job site publishing, reporting and administrative functions. Dunivan believes the enhancements address the most important aspect of recruiting today>the need to effectively build and manage candidate relationships.
Specifics to ijob 4.0 include the ability to initiate interview requests and order background checks, unlimited cost information tracking for all activities associated with the hiring process, customized e-mail notification of recruiters for both active and passive candidates, better integration of action-requiring activities (automatic recruiter-specific communications with candidate), dynamic creation of an employer’s jobs page for company Web sites and multiple language support with candidate accessibility to U.S. multinational and global employees.
“Job Site Publisher makes it easy for companies to display jobs on their Web sites and intranet, and recruit candidates inside and outside the company worldwide,” Dunivan said. “And the new customization features deliver an unprecedented level of control over the system’s look, functionality and ease of use.”
Lawson launched ijob last year in September and currently has 42 subscribers. The priding model starts at $56,000 for 1,000 employees. Lawson offers special rates for smaller employers. The company currently has 3,000 corporate customers in the mid to large-sized range.
