Outtask, Inc.,, the Alexandria, Va.-based Business Services Providers (BSPs), today announced the acquisition of 31 new customers during the fourth quarter of 2001.
The firm says this brings its total customers at the end of 2001 to 371, an increase of 271 percent over the number at the end of 2000.
Among Outtask’s significant wins include: Symbol Technologies, Inc. , a provider of portable data terminals and bar code scanners, for Outtask’s OpenHire Recruiting Management solution; LaRoche Industries, a privately owned industrial chemicals distribution and manufacturing firm, for Outtask’s Financial Management solution; and VUTEk, Inc. a supplier of super-wide format inkjet printers which selected Outtask’s Travel and Expense Management solution.
“We offer technologies that are more effective delivered as a service versus the traditional in-house deployment. I am very pleased with the number of new customer wins,” says Tom DePasquale, president and CEO of Outtask.
“Given the difficult economic climate during the fourth quarter of last year, Outtask’s ownership of key applications continues to drive the size and profitability of our business. Cliqbook, Outtask’s Travel Management solution, is selling beyond our expectations and we see a strong pull through for Vinnet, Outtask’s Expense Management solution,” he explains.
Says Amy Levy, industry analyst with technology market-research firm Summit Strategies: “Although few vendors have been able to make a go of the ASP model, Outtask has stuck to its guns and continued to expand its business offerings and strategy to meet the needs of its growing customer base,”
Founded in 1999, Outtask integrates its business applications with services such as Web and phone based conferencing so that companies to streamline their business processes.
