Qwest Beefs Up ASP Portfolio

Qwest Cyber Solutions LLC (QCS), the Denver, Colo.-based enterprise Application Service Provider (ASP), today announced it will now offer hosted Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes products, previously only provided through Qwest Communications International Inc.’s Internet Services Unit.

The the move will expand QCS’ existing portfolio of hosted and managed products and add more than 30 new messaging customers to its roster.

“This is a very smart move,” says Lew Hollerbach, research director for service providers at Aberdeen Group. “It recognizes the tremendous capabilities QCS has amassed in application hosting and management, and it allows Qwest to stay even closer to its core businesses. Simple, focused strategies are always best.”

Qwest says the decision to migrate the messaging solutions to the QCS portfolio was driven by the complimentary nature of electronic messaging with QCS’ other business applications and believes that the firm’s capabilities for hosting and managing these types of applications will drive increased revenue for both organizations.

“By centralizing these services within QCS, we are increasing our internal efficiencies while making it even easier for current and future customers to fully leverage the benefits of software as a service.”

QCS’ messaging solutions are hosted by QCS in the Qwest CyberCenter facilities and delivered over the Qwest global broadband communications network.

Its ProofPositive service level agreements (SLAs) are available for all of its messaging solutions, now offered as a stand-alone hosted and managed solutions or as part of a larger integrated solution.
