Shift Technologies Uses ASP Model to Enter Mobile Arena

Provider of Web-based time sheets, expense and project management softwareShift Technologies Inc. yesterday announced that it can now offer its flagship product, OnlineTimeSheet.com, to mobile consumers through their Palm Pilots.

Based on the ASP model, OnlineTimeSheets.com is a rentable service with no implementation or maintenance fees for Palm Pilot users. The service costs $10 per employee on a monthly-charge basis. The software needed to interface with the Palm Pilots is available at no charge.

Michael Palavido, Shift’s founder and chief executive officer , told ASP News, “We do not plan to charge any additional fees beside the standard monthly fee for Palm Pilot users. Our goal is to give a company’s workforce the option of using the Web or their Palm Pilot to manage their time and expenses.”

“The ASP model is the logical way to provide this service since the ASP market is growing so rapidly,” said Palavido.

OnlineTimeSheets.com debuted as a Web-based service in October 1999 and now offers a range of features including real-time Web-based reporting, multi company/multi currency, advanced browser interface, ability to create accounts for customers to log into the system and view reports and export support for XML, Intuit QuickBooks Pro and Microsoft Excel.
