Health care application service provider TriZetto Group Inc. Tuesday formed a
strategic alliance with Presideo Inc., a leading Internet infrastructure services company specializing
in digital identity management.
Presidio’s authentication services utilizes biometric identifiers that are
unique to each individual, such as fingerprints, retinas, voices and facial
features to authenticate users. The alliance adds a new level of secure
services to TriZetto’s e-healthcare portfolio.
Under the terms of the deal TriZetto plans to incorporate its HealthWeb portal and ASP services
into Presideo’s complete suite of Internet trust services. The move
provides TriZetto with an end-to-end e-business process that protects
information stored and exchanged over the Internet.
Shawn Bowen, TriZetto vice president of connectivity services and chief
technology officer, said operating in the healthcare arena demands that the
companies maintain a secure, trusted digital environment.
“This alliance with Presideo complements TriZetto’s efforts to provide its
customers with the industry’s most comprehensive package of Internet
security solutions,” Bowen said.
Sheila Schweitzer, Presideo chief executive officer said the alliance would
provide TriZetto with a best-of-class secure Web environment for its
e-health service offerings.
“We are pleased to be selected by TriZetto, an industry leader in the
delivery of best-of-class healthcare applications through the ASP model,”
Schweitzer said. “This cost-effective delivery system will bring Presideo’s
Trusted Space authentication products to a wide variety of customers in the
e-health sector, securing healthcare data exchange over the Internet.”
Presideo’s suite of Internet trust services performs a series of processes
that allows users to safely access confidential information and conduct
secure online transactions.
TriZetto’s Bowen said the Presideo deal allows the ASP to process its
authentication-related functions and credentialing service verification in
a single step.
“From initial log-in to the end goal of complete reporting, Presideo’s
products perform all authentication-related functions, and its
credentialing service verifies physicians’ good standing to allow access to
confidential information,” Bowen said.
“The ‘single sign-on’ functionality only requires the user to input his or
her biometric once, where it travels throughout TriZetto’s hosted services,
limiting redundant entries and unnecessary delays,” Bowen added. “This
feature adds flexibility and convenience to conducting confidential
healthcare transactions over the Internet.”
Florida-based Presideo is a Safeguard
