In a move aimed at increasing its customer base and strengthening its Web
hosting service capabilities, Verio Inc.
announced today the acquisition of Internet Servers Inc. or iServer.
Utah-based iServer is known for its proprietary “Virtual Server” technology,
which is designed to enable customers to configure and control their
company’s Internet presence without having to manage a dedicated Internet
server.
The company serves over 25,000 company Web site customers and markets its
services in 60 countries worldwide.
“The iServer acquisition is a natural progression of Verio’s vision of
providing companies with cost-effective, high-quality and easy-to-manage
Internet presence,” said Verio Chief Executive Officer Justin L.
Jaschke.
“As the growing organizations we serve expand their Internet use,
Verio is positioned to provide them with a broad suite of access and enhanced
Internet services, combined with the local support that makes it easy to do
business with Verio.”
iServer president Kent Millington will assume the role of president of a
newly established Verio Web Hosting services division.
