Cisco Ramps Up iPhone Security With New App

The so-called consumerization of IT might have made work life more interesting, but it’s also raised some serious security questions. Namely, can popular devices like the iPhone and any number of others be trusted with corporate data behind the firewall?

Cisco has an app for that. The company this week is out with its AnyConnect Security Mobility software for Apple’s iOS 4.1, an iPhone app that Cisco promises will bring heightened security for corporate users of the popular smartphone. Enterprise Mobile Today takes a look.


Enterprises concerned about iPhone security have a new option courtesy of Cisco.

The networking giant announced Thursday that its AnyConnect Security Mobility software for iOS 4.1 is now available on the iPhone App Store. AnyConnect also works with Apple’s iPod Touch device.
