Allaire Corp. Monday announced that
a new version of HomeSite 4.5, will ship next month.
Improvements in this
new version of the popular HTML editing tool include a flexible project
management system, scriptable deployment, and easy integration with the
latest Web technologies.
New features in HomeSite 4.5 include collapsible code, function insight
and split window editing. The product will also feature a project management
system with virtual folders, auto-inclusion and source control integration.
Its new scriptable site deployment system simplifies the process with a site
deployment wizard, and team and custom deployment. Features designed to help
Web developers work with the latest Web technologies include a new CSS
editor, an image map editor, and XML and XSL
awareness.
HomeSite 4.5 runs on Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT. A beta copy
for evaluation can be downloaded
from Allaire’s (ALLR) Web site.
The new version will be priced at $99 for the application on CD-ROM and $89
for the electronic version. French, German and Japanese versions will be
available within 90 to 120 days. HomeSite 4.5 can be ordered directly from
Allaire or obtained from various resellers.
Other Allaire products are Allaire Spectra, ColdFusion and JRun. Allaire
claims a customer base of more than 430,000 developers worldwide that using
its products to build and deploy interactive Web applications and Internet
sites.
