Information Builders this week released its WebFOCUS Suite, a set of 100% Pure Java applets that extend the functionality of the company’s WebFOCUS Application Server.
The WebFOCUS Application Server enables dynamic database reporting and
publishing on the Web potentially using over 70 types of databases. This
includes legacy data as well as data which is stored in packaged
applications such as SAP R/3.
With the release of the new WebFOCUS Suite, Information Builders responded
to their customers’ demands for robust Java-based reporting tools and added
managed reporting, an administrator controlled environment that utilizes
OLAP navigation, report scheduling, and distribution capabilities.
The WebFOCUS Managed Reporting environment enables even beginners to create
detailed reports using pre-constructed objects (created by the database
administrator). These reporting objects, along with standard reports, can
be grouped and made available to different classes of users.
The WebFOCUS Application Server retails from $7,200 to $115,650 based on
platform. The WebFOCUS Java-based developer’s workbench sells for $2,500
for up to five developers, with end user pricing starting at $395 per seat. For more information, visit the Information Builders Web site.
