Luckman Interactive, Inc. this week
released a major upgrade to its popular WebEdit Pro HTML authoring tool.
The new version, WebEdit Pro 3.0, includes several tools and wizards that
will enable even total beginners to create appealing Web sites.
Many professional developers prefer to work directly in the HTML source
code, avoiding WYSIWYG editors like they were the plague. Often WYSIWYG
tools are optimized for specific Web browsers or HTML specs, and developers
are stuck in a position of “take it or leave it” when it comes to the
resulting HTML code.
Tools such as WebEdit Pro enable developers to have more control over their
code, enabling them to edit code that has been created using any
tool–without adding additional tags or proprietary code.
Luckman has also included an extensive set of interactive wizards for
beginners that make it easy to add links, anchors, graphics, image maps,
tables, forms, ActiveX objects, Java objects, multimedia elements, and style
sheets. The developer may even insert toolbar shortcuts for their most
frequently used tags.
WebEdit Pro 3.0 offers real-time syntax checking that allows developers to
check their HTML code to ensure it follows the specs for HTML versions 1.0
to 4.0. The HTML
syntax is color-coded with contrasting colors as it is entered, and the
program can validate HTML code to any selected level.
WebEdit Pro 3.0 has a retail price of $89.95 and may be downloaded from
from the Luckman Web site. Registered users of WebEdit Pro 2.03 may upgrade
to version 3.0 for $59.95.
