Macromedia Wants to Certify Dreamweavers

Macromedia Inc. on Monday announced its intention to certify some one million developers that use its market-leading suite of web tools.

The Dreamweaver Developer Certification will validate a user’s understanding of Dreamweaver, Web page design, Web authoring, and Web technologies. Dreamweaver certification is part of the larger Macromedia Certified Professional Program, which demonstrates to employers and clients a proficiency in designing and developing Web sites.

“Certification has become an important differentiator in today’s economy,” said Carolyn Lightner, vice president, educational
services, Macromedia. “By becoming certified, Macromedia developers can demonstrate to potential employers and clients their
ability and skills in using Macromedia products as well as their understanding of the underlying Web standards and technologies.”

In addition to Dreamweaver, exams are also available for ColdFusion, and Macromedia Flash Developers. Macromedia has partnered with VUE (www.vue.com), one of the leading IT certification testing vendors, to deliver certification exams at more than 2,500 testing centers worldwide.

Developers who become certified through the program can use the Macromedia Certified Professional program logo on their
business cards, letterhead, and Web sites; and they will also be listed on the Macromedia Web site as a Macromedia Certified
professional.
