Pervasive Software Inc. Thursday released Tango 3.5 Application Server for the Sun Solaris Operating System.

Solaris developers can utilize the strengths of the Tango 3.5 Development Studio for Windows or Mac to deploy their applications on the Solaris operating system without being forced to rewrite their application’s source code. This will speed the programmer’s development and deployment cycle and lower the cost of development.

The Tango Application Server for Solaris includes a comprehensive set of ODBC drivers so applications can access, manage and display the underlying database content. The tool enables developers to integrate JavaScript, Perl Scripts, Java Classes and JavaBeans within their Tango solutions.

Tango works across multiple platforms and supports industry standards including ODBC, HTML, XML, SQL, Java, CGI and HTTP. Additionally, it can be used with a number of application servers and editors. Tango 3.5 Application Server for Solaris is available directly from Pervasive for a retail price of $6995.

The Tango 3.5 Application Development Studio is also available for free through Pervasive’s Web Jump-Start Program. The Web Jump-Start Program includes almost $1,500 worth of software, including the Tango 3.5 Web Development Studio, Pervasive.SQL database (Win 32), Apache Web server, ODBC drivers, sample files and tutorials, documentation and 60 days of free Tango technical support. To download an application for Pervasive’s Web Jump-Start program or order a Web Jump-Start CD, visit the Pervasive WebJump Area.
