Polycom Inc. Wednesday launched its IPriority
initiative, designed to enable dynamic media on broadband networks.

Leading off is the ViewStation FX H.323, an IP-only video communications system.

Polycom’s IPriority initiative is a multi-phase strategy to extend Polycom’s
position in broadband IP communications.

The IPriority initiative features a broad emphasis in IP-centric voice and video endpoints, quality of service architecture and voice and video over DSL.

“Customers are asking for tools to help migrate voice and video
communications to broadband networks,” said Bob Hagerty, president and chief executive officer of
Polycom.

The new ViewStation FX H.323 is Polycom’s first IP-only video communications
system targeted at early adopters of video communications over IP protocol.
Included in this system are H.323 enhancements that improve the customer
experience of video over IP.
