Globalink introduced today
Comprende WebMaster, a service that lets small companies offer their
Web site in five additional languages as well as understand and reply to
e-mail inquiries from overseas customers.
For a monthly subscription fee, Globalink provides on-demand machine
translation of a company’s site. The translation adequately presents to
non-native-speaking visitors the “gist” of the information in their own
native language.
Initially, visitors to a U.S. companies’ site will be able to request
and receive the information in French, Italian, German, Spanish, or
Portuguese. Additional languages will be available over the next few
months.
To get a site ready for translation, the small business pays a one-time
setup fee of $250. Thereafter, companies pay a service fee of $30 per
month per language, which includes dynamic, automatic content updates, or
$100 a month to be able to offer all five languages. This pricing will
cover most small company sites or any site with an average of 4,000 page
views or less per day.
Comprende WebMaster translation makes the whole site available to the
visitor in his or her native language, even keeping intact the links companies
have made between other sections of the site.
