It’s a good thing to have lots of high-resolution images at your disposal if you’re running an e-commerce, graphics, or graphics design Web site. But managing all those images and their thumbnail variations for dialup users can be a lot of work.

Iris Accelerate for Java from TrueSpectra can save you a great deal of that trouble. It lets you store the high-res images as usual, but site visitors access GIF or JPG versions created on the fly.

This also saves storage and bandwidth. You can even specify URLs that will provide cropped, sharpened, or blurred versions of the original images.
