Twitter Chats Up Developers

For Twitter, the near future is looking bright. The company at long last just rolled out a way to begin making money, while its executives this week hosted the company’s first developer conference, giving application-builders a sneak peak into Twitter’s goals and plans.

Those plans include widening API access to the Twitter “Firehose” of tweets, and further encouraging mobile growth. Datamation takes a look.


SAN FRANCISCO — About 500 Twitter developers gathered here at the Palace of Fine Arts to hear Twitter’s co-founders and other company executives detail the company’s progress and future plans at its first “Chirp” conference.

Earlier this week, Twitter announced an advertising program it’s started to roll out that places relevant text ads atop search results and company execs here said they are committed to expanding the user base and creating more opportunities for developers.
