Web application provider Ulead Systems
Inc.
Thursday rolled out the latest version of its Web graphics
compression and production tool.

Functioning as a Photoshop plug-in or a stand-alone application, SmartSaver
Pro gives users the choice of working in their favorite image editing
application or as a stand-alone program. Version 3.0 introduces new features
that make it easier to prime images and animations for Web publication.

The main components include tools for image optimization, slicing, image map
creation, JavaScript rollovers and table-based graphics creation. SmartSaver
Pro allows automated optimization of all images on a Web page both online or
locally and offers options for
creating rollovers that use images, animations and audio.

SmartSaver Pro’s new batch optimization features let Webmasters optimize
images from HTML. Users type in a URL or specify a Web page’s location on
the local drive and SmartSaver will detect all the images on the page and
batch compress the specified files to the chosen format and settings.

New table management features deliver flexible slicing and full control over
table layers like cell background, cell image and rollover image. Each layer
can be optimized individually and users can load images or animations to any
layer.

The estimated ESD price for SmartSaver Pro 3.0 is $59.95. Owners of
SmartSaver Pro 2.0 may upgrade to version 3.0 for $34.95.
