AT&T’s Solutions arm Thursday
expanded its application performance management capabilities to
provide a speedier service for corporate and extranet users experience.

AT&T Solutions, the managed networking solutions and
professional services arm of AT&T, will integrate the new application
performance management tools with its networked messaging management,
enterprise wide area networks and custom hosting capabilities, with
the use of Packeteer Inc.’s
quality-of-service solutions.

The application performance management capabilities bring greater management
control over applications hosted by AT&T and over applications hosted at the
customer’s location. They also provide performance control tools for
applications running on clients’ networks that allow businesses to assign
priority levels to specific applications or users.

These new application management services, along with Web Performance
Management, which the company introduced in May, are integrated with the
AT&T Solutions Global Enterprise Management System platform in the
company’s Global Client Support Centers.

“We intend to offer global networking companies the same level and quality
of support for e-business applications that they’ve come to expect from AT&T
for their traditional networking infrastructure,” said William Harvey,
services director, AT&T Solutions.

Packeteer is a leading provider of Internet application
infrastructure systems designed to enable businesses and service providers
to ensure the quality of experience for networked applications and
application services.
