Content management provider InStranet, Inc. has teamed up with IBM to integrate its technology with Big Blue’s publishing application.
As a part of the arrangement, Alley-based InStranet, which develops extranet applications that allow companies to exchange information, will pair its application with IBM’s WebSphere product to provide a service that allow business users to publish, organize and personalize multimedia Web content.
“InStranet 2000 allows any business user to publish, organize and personalize their Web content without having any programming skills, and is based on key open standards such as Java and XML,” said Eric Menache, WebSphere marketing director, IBM Software Group, in a statement.
InStranet’s application — called InStranet 2000 — is an open platform, Java-based Web content management service that allows non-technical users to generate and classify Web content using a browser.
So far, InStranet 2000 is installed in the back end systems of Zurich U.S., Vivendi, AXA, France Telecom, La Poste and Universal Music.
The company is backed by European venture capital firm Galileo and Business Objects (NASDAQ: BOBJ).
InStranet is headquartered in New York with offices in Paris and technology distribution partnerships in Europe and Asia.
