IntraNet Solutions Licenses Autonomy’s Web Apps

IntraNet Solutions Inc.
Thursday licensed Autonomy Corp.’s technology for use in its Xpedio Content Management System.

With this deal, whose financial terms were not disclosed, Xpedio
customers will be able to deliver personalized content for intranet,
extranet and Internet solutions. Autonomy develops software that
automatically organizes and categorizes large volumes of information mainly
for use in knowledge management.

Autonomy’s technology analyzes and ranks the ideas within any piece of text,
regardless of its language or format. This enables Autonomy to automate the
most time-consuming and costly functions involved in deploying a Web site,
including categorizing, tagging, hypertext linking and personalizing the
delivery of content.

According to Autonomy Chief Executive Officer Mike
Lynch, Autonomy’s technology is set to become the de facto infrastructure
for automating the operations needed to deploy and manage Web sites.

“By using Autonomy’s technology to automate otherwise labor-intensive tasks,
Xpedio customers will able to reduce costs and focus on their core business,
rather than wasting valuable time manually tagging and linking information,”
Lynch said.

The bundled solution is scheduled for availability in the third quarter of
2000.

IntraNet Solutions conducted business overseas Thursday as well when it
granted Pericom, a leading U.K.-based
software and IT services company, master reseller status for reselling the
departmental project version of Intra.doc! Web-based content management
software.
