NetObjects Ships Intranet Authoring Tool

NetObjects Inc.
Tuesday began shipping its Authoring Server Connector for Microsoft
FrontPage, which allows files generated in FrontPage to be seamlessly
integrated into intranets where administrators can manage them using
NetObjects’ Authoring Server Suite 3.0.

NetObjects said Authoring Server Connector gives FrontPage users an easy
way to integrate existing documents rather than being forced to switch
authoring tools.

Files created by FrontPage can be uploaded to NetObjects Authoring Server
where the page and its associated assets are managed within the Authoring
Server Asset Database. The pages can then be accessed from the Authoring
Server by FrontPage for modification. NetObjects’ TeamFusion client is
required to integrate the FrontPage HTML into an Authoring Server page.

NetObjects said the Authoring Server balances control by managing user
access in four distinct modules–each responsible for a different phase
of intranet development and maintenance.

The Authoring Server provides the repository and management for the sites
and users, the Authoring Server Assistant manages users, sites and servers,
the TeamFusion Client develops the site structure and pages and the Content
Contributor Client is a browser-based applet used to contribute text to
templates.

The products are available in a variety of licensing configurations.
